Day Trip to Venice 16th May 2007
| 17
of us started out at 5am and arrived
in Venice around 11 o’clock. We had
booked water taxi’s which wizzed us
to Saint Maria Elisabetta. We ambled
our way to Lido di Venezia, the
weather was glorious and the local
people were very surprised to see us
dressed in our Red and Purple. We
attracted many admiring glances and
compliments from both men and women.
We enjoyed a glass of wine while we
waited for our meal at Parco Delle
Rose Restaurant. (Betty’s daughter
owns and runs the restaurant).. The
meal was absolutely fantastic, we were
serenaded with live music, and
everything was perfect. We said our
goodbye’s to our hostess and made
our way over to Saint Marc’s Square
by way of the water bus. We then spent
the next few hours enjoying the
wonderful architecture and beauty of
Venice as we know it from books and
television. It was everything and more
than many of us expected. We ended our
visit enjoying drinks at a piazza café.
We were treated like celebrities with
so many people asking all about us,
taking photographs and complimenting
us for our fun attitude towards life.
We arrived home around midnight and we
all agreed it was a visit we would
never forget. |
