Gathering of Queens

The weekend of March 9/11th was the second annual Gathering of Queens in the United Kingdom. The venue chosen was Thoresby Hall, an 18th century stately home on the edge of Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, standing in acres of beautiful parkland.

The Hall has been converted into an adults only hotel, with spa facilities, beauty treatments and outdoor activities for the more active break.

The presence of 24 purple clad, red-hatted mature ladies sparked a lot of interest from other guests, with questions about the significance of the red hats, something we were all happy to answer.

On Friday afternoon some of the early arrivals met for a cuppa while others went off to explore. Dinner was the time to meet those that attended last year and to introduce ourselves to the new Queens on their first visit.

There were 8 of last year’s chapters represented, and the other QM’s and Queens were from 8 new chapters.
