We were given a guided tour by Peter Field, a retired police officer. He brought it all to life with stories of things that happened there so many years ago. 

Afterwards, we were treated to tea & cakes in the Mayor's parlour. We saw many interesting antique items such as the Spetors and beautiful silverware. Jill and I tried on the Mayoral robe. It was very heavy to wear, especially the sleeves. We now know how the Mayors feel when they are at special occasions.
