We had arranged to meet at the Brighton Pier at 11 am to promenade along the seafront and ride on the carousel. We were expecting to be joined by Yvonne who was visiting the area during her 7 week European tour and who lives in Australia. Unfortunately, she did not show. We were disappointed but could not let that spoil our fun. 4 Bromley Red Hatters had traveled down from Kent so we had to show them a good time.

Our Vice Queen June had her birthday the next day so as a surprise we had arranged a birthday cake and presents to be given to her after we had finished our lunch at the Royal Albion Hotel. Wow! was she surprised. We all sang Happy Birthday to her and helped her eat some of the enormous birthday cake.
