Today the Brighton Belles were joined by Queen Doreen & Joyous from the Crawley Titfer Tats.

The Reviewing Officer was His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales.

The average age of the In-Pensioners is 82 years and 6 months. The oldest In-Pensioner is 99.

144 In-Pensioners fought in the Second World War. They also include survivors of the many campaigns that took place between the World Wars and after the Second World War.

The statue of Charles II, cast in copper alloy by Grinling Gibbons in 1676, was originally gilded and stood in the precincts of Whitehall Palace.

Following the death of King Charles in 1685, it was re-erected in Figure Court between 1688 and 1692 and subsequently bronzed in 1782.

Two centuries later, the statue and plinth were in serious need of restoration. It was, therefore, timely and appropriate to refurbish the statue to its original gilded glory in the Golden Jubilee year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
